In Hindu culture , there is a ritual where a women take Pradikshna around Tulsi . Every Hindu house has a Tulsi plant planted in front of their house,in the well carved pot like structure.
There is a belief that , early morning , a married women should take round of Tulsi plant and pray to Lord Surya, in order to get good blessing from Lord Surya and goddess Tulsi for her entire family.
The major reason behind planting a Tulsi plant in front of the house , is that it is one of the plant which gives out large amount of oxygen compared to others .
Apart from spiritual values gained from Tulsi , it has medicinal values too. Which acts like a scientific reason behind the ritual.
Some of the medicinal benefits like it helps curing few deseases like Fever,Common cold,Cough,Sore throat, Respiratory disorders, Kidney stone, Heart disorder, Children’s Ailments, Mouth infections, Insect bites, Skin disorders, Teeth disorder, Headaches, Eye disorders and Many More…..
The Tulsi acts as a herb in the treatment of respiratory system disorder. A decoction of the leaves with honey and ginger is an effective remedy for bronchitis, asthma, influenza, cough and cold.
Besides Tulsi acts as a Anti-stress agent, Blood purifier, Tulsi leaves are regarded as an “ADAPTOGEN” or Anti-Stress Agent. These leaves afford significant protection against stress which is medically proved.
Most importantly Tulsi leaves are Nerve tonic and also sharpen memory and the leaves strengthen the stomach and induce copious perspiration.
The seed of the plant are mucilaginous.
That’s why in every hindu’s house there is a Tulsi plant.Though not everyone knows all these scientific advantages and uses, But because of the belief in god and culture they place a tulsi plant in the house.
Tulsi, sacred plant of indian culture, got 2 main roles in Indians life, It is worshipped as a sacred plant and works as Herb.
